The small blue Jumpr device weighs just 7 ounces, but don't underestimate this portable charger's battery.
While its primary purpose is to keep your smartphone charged, Juno Power Jumpr has a battery pack strong enough to jump a dead car in a few minutes, Wired reported.
Powered with a 6000 mAh battery, Jumpr can offer 12-volt, 300-amp output at a weight far less than the average 25-pound battery charger usually kept in the trunk of a car.
At about 5 inches in length, the Jumpr device is about the size of the average smartphone, the Daily Mail reported. Juno Power, which is headquartered in Burlingame, Calif., said the gadget can give about 1 percent of power for each minute and a half it's plugged into a phone or tablet.
Available now for preorder, Jumpr can charge a smartphone or a tablet and even a car with the help of a jumper-cable attachment. The battery should be able to kick start standard four- and six-cylinder engines, but the output may or may be not be powerful enough for other engines, the company said.
Jumpr will be available for a reduced promotional price of $70 until May 1, after which it will go for $90.
