General Motors has confirmed it is recalling 490,200 full-size trucks and SUVs in the U.S., because of a possible fire risk, according to the automaker.
The recall includes the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015 Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.
"GM has determined that these vehicles may have a transmission oil cooler line that is not securely seated in its fitting," the automaker said in a statement, according to Edmunds. "If the line is not securely seated and transmission oil leaks from the fitting, the oil could contact a hot surface and result in a vehicle fire."
The automaker has been notified of three fires, though no injuries have been linked to the recall yet.
GM dealers are being instructed to inspect the fittings for leaks, and make necessary repairs, free of charge.
The recall will begin on April 28, according to GM.
