More than 7,000 Toyota Highlander models have been recalled due to issues with the third-row seatbelts.
The Japanese carmaker is recalling 7,067 of the 2014 crossovers in the United States, Edmunds.com reported. The recalled vehicles were built from Nov. 20 to Jan. 18.
No injuries or accidents were reported in connection with the issue, and Toyota assured people that no other Toyota or Lexus models purchased in the U.S. have been affected.
The problem had to do with the third-row middle seatbelt assembly.
"The third-row middle seatbelt assembly might not have been properly secured to the vehicle floor anchorage during vehicle assembly," the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in its summary of the problem, according to Edmunds.
"A seatbelt that is not properly secured to its anchorage could increase the risk of injury to an occupant in the event of a crash."
Toyota issued the "stop delivery" order for the crossover a week ago, Edmunds reported.
The recall should start sometime this month, when Toyota dealers will inspect the seatbelt in question and secure it if necessary.

"This recall will begin shortly, but if you have any problems or concerns in the meantime, check in with your dealer," Edmunds said.
Last month, Toyota recalled 295,000 Lexus and Toyota brand vehicles worldwide due to issues with various safety systems like stability control and anti-lock brakes.
The automaker said an electrical component in the brake actuator, which regulates fluid pressure in each wheel cylinder, could "experience increased resistance," according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Toyota and Lexus dealers have been instructed to update the software for the skid control electronic unit, free of charge.
Toyota had recalled 1.9 million of its 3rd generation Prius vehicles worldwide due to a programming issue earlier the same week.
