Facebook is reportedly talking with Titan Aerospace to purchase the drone maker for $60 million, according technology blog TechCrunch, who first which first reported the deal, citing anonymous sources.
The drones would essentially allow the No.1 social networking site in the world the chance to beam wireless Internet access to people in undeveloped parts of the world.
The deal would also help advance Facebook's Internet.org effort, according to Reuters.
Through Internet.org, Facebook is trying to connect billions of people who don't have Internet access.
Facebook has yet to comment on the deal publically.
Titan Aerospace has also not responded to requests for comment, as of press time.
Titan is currently working on making a number of solar-powered "atmospheric satellites" according to the company's website,
The new satellites are set to be released sometime in 2015.
Facebook wouldn't be the first site to use drones, as last summer Google announced Project Loon, a project testing internet access through solar-powered balloons.
Companies like Amazon and FedEx have both discussed publically its ambitions to use unmanned devices for shipping packages.
