Nissan has confirmed it will introduce its redesigned 2015 Nissan Murano crossover at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
The Murano will be available for purchase this fall.
Nissan has yet to announce pricing for the redesigned model, but did confirm some specs fans can expect.
The automaker borrowed styling cues from the Nissan Resonance concept for the new Murano, according to Edmunds.
Nissan's North American Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, Parts and Service Fred Diaz said to Edmunds recently that the vehicle's exterior "is beautifully styled. The dealers were just foaming at the mouth when I showed them pictures."
Diaz said dealers are pumped about the Murano's new interior as well.
"They almost fell out of their seats they were so excited," Diaz said during an interview with Edmunds the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. "So I am excited by it, encouraged by it. They can't wait to get it."
Nissan also confirmed that the Murano will basically be the same size as the current five-passenger model, and interested customers shouldn't expect a seven-passenger version to be added at a later date.
The Murano will have a front-drive vehicle platform that's also available with the Altima, Pathfinder and the upcoming Maxima.
A hybrid Murano will also be sold eventually, though no timetable has been set, according to the automaker.
The Murano will compete with similar models like the Ford Edge and Honda CR-V.
An unnamed concept vehicle will also be unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
