A 2014 Chevrolet Camaro with a magenta exterior paint job will hit showrooms starting this February, according to a company press release.
The Camaro will likely debut at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show before being released for a limited time.
Chevy confirmed this week that the color will be available on "most" Camaro models through June 2014.
"You will be able to see it a couple of miles away," said John Fitzpatrick, Chevrolet's marketing manager for performance cars, in an interview at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, according to the press release.
"I think a lot of people who want to stand out are going to go after that color," Fitzpatrick said.
Images of the Camaro with the magenta paint job have not been issued by General Motors yet. GM has been testing bolder colors on its vehicles though, for example the 2014 Chevrolet Sonic in Deep Magenta Metallic.
Fitzpatrick made sure to mention that this is hardly the first time a Chevrolet model has been introduced with a unique paint treatment.
"Remember when we came out with Synergy Green, the bright green car?" said Fitzpatrick. "So this is taking it to a purple hue."
The Synergy Green Special Edition Camaro debuted for the 2010 model year.
