Oct 25, 2013 11:38 AM EDT | Matt Mercuro

Mitsubishi Motors North America is recalling over 10,000 Lancer Evolution vehicles. In the affected models, the clutch master cylinder can fail.

Approximately 10,474 models are involved in the recall manufactured from Dec. 12, 2007 through March 5, 2013.

Failure of the clutch master cylinder reduces the ability to shift the vehicle into or out of gear, increasing the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
