A former parking valet for the Philadelphia Eagles has been charged with bank fraud after police determined he was stole $225,000 from a player's bank account.
Federal officials said this week that Robert Von Ryan, 37, stole from offensive tackle Todd Herremans from 2009 through 2012, according to the Associated Press.
"Disappointed in myself, upset that someone would do that before you have to keep your personal information locked up," Herremans said, according to ABC News.
Von Ryan supposedly went into Herremans' car and took documents containing the guard's checking account information, which allowed him to steal the money and transfer it into his own account.
An Eagles spokesperson confirmed that Von Ryan worked for a subcontractor security service that is not used by the team anymore.
Herremans, who is in his ninth professional season, has been reimbursed by his insurance company, according to the Associated Press.
"It was a combination of just unexplained expenses that I was talking to my financial adviser about and then he started asking me about purchases and stuff," said Herremans after being asked how he didn't notice he was missing money sooner.
Von Ryan Von Ryan faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine if convicted, according to Philly.com.
