The base 2014 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will now be sold for $30,800, including an $810 destination charge, thanks to a $2,010 price cut, according to a press statement by the automaker.
The 2014 Toyota Prius Plug-in Advanced will be sold for $35,715, including shipping, due to a $4,620 price cut.
The 2014 cars also get a $2,500 federal tax credit. The price cuts do not apply to the 2013 Prius vehicles.
"(Price cuts will) make the model more accessible to consumers," Toyota said in a statement.
Honda, Nissan and General Motors have all offered discounted leases or price cuts on rechargeable models the past few months.
The reduced prices puts the Prius Plug-in Hybrid below its main competitor, the 2014 Chevrolet Volt. The 2014 Volt starts is available for $34,995, including an $810 destination charge.
The Prius Plug-in is also cheaper than the 2013 C-Max Energi, which starts at a base price of $33,745, including a $795 destination charge.
Ford has yet to announce pricing for the 2014 C-Max Energi.
The 2014 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will go on sale this November.
