Despite recent rumors that he is going to replace CEO Steve Ballmer at Microsoft, Ford CEO Alan Mulally said this week he only has Ford on his mind.
"I love serving Ford and have nothing new to add to (my) plans to continue serving Ford," said Mullay in an interview with USA TODAY.
Mulally was at the University of Georgia on Oct. 1 to take part in the 16th USA TODAY CEO Forum.
The successful CEO has earned a reputation of being able to turn around companies. Before coming to Ford in 2006, Mulally spent 37 successful years at Boeing where he helped the company beat competitors like Airbus with the Boeing 777 jetliner.
At Ford, Mulally has helped transform the automaker into a better company overall.
Despite recording a record loss in 2008, the company avoided government bailout loans given to GM and Chrysler. The following year the company reported a profit and has had 16 consecutive profitable quarters, according to USA Today.
This week Ford reported that they experienced its best September sales month since 2006.
Mullay has confirmed that he will stay with Ford through 2014, though the board of directors have already said publically that they won't stand in his way if he chooses to leave earlier.
With Microsoft, Ford has co-developed the Sync infotainment system that allows drivers to connect their smartphones in most new Ford models. Mulally recently called Microsoft "a great company" and "a great partner."
