Pennzoil revealed this week that a Kentucky resident won the "Four Wheels to Freedom" sweepstakes that ended on July 31, 2013.
April Vaught from Middletown, K.Y. will receive a 2013 Challenger SRT8 customized by country music star Tim McGraw, according to a company press release.
"A natural progression in our relationship with McGraw was to bring his love of cars to life for fans and what better way to do that than put him in the driver's seat to customize an American classic for one lucky consumer," said Bree Sandlin, Pennzoil Global Brand Manager, in a press statement. "Once completed, the Four Wheels to Freedom vehicle is even more impressive than we could have imagined and beautifully encompasses the passion McGraw and Pennzoil share for the freedom derived from the open road."
The 2013 Challenger SRT8 boosts 470 hp and achieves an acceleration of 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds. The vehicle's exterior resembles McGraw's latest album "Lanes of Freedom," from the stripes on the hood, to the 23 coats of paint used to "convey the feeling of motion" according to Pennzoil.
McGraw was on hand to give the SRT8 away to an excited Vaught.
"After putting so much thought into designing the 'Four Wheels to Freedom' muscle car, I wanted to be there in person to hand the keys over to the lucky winner," said McGraw according to a company press release. "It's a powerful machine with nothing but open road in front of it!"
Vaught was selected randomly from a number of participants who entered from May 1 through July 31 at Pennzoil.com.
Approximately 40 first place winners received JBL Tim McGraw On Ear Headphones and 50 second place winners received Tim McGraw Posters.
"Winning a car and meeting Tim McGraw is a once in a lifetime deal! I think I'm still in a state of shock and denial," explained Vaught. "And the car! The car is more than I could have ever dreamed of and the fact that it is customized by Tim McGraw makes it all that much more special to me."
