Citroen unveiled its Cactus Concept hatchback at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show.

A production version of the concept called the Citroen C4 Cactus will debut at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show.

One feature confirmed by the automaker is "Airbumps," a non-scratch rubbery exterior surface that has been compared to bubble wrap. Airbumps is made of air capsules that helps protect the body of the vehicle.

The Cactus is powered by Citroen's Hybrid Air drivetrain, which was introduced earlier this year, and is capable of returning 94 mpg according to the automaker.

Citroen said the passenger airbag is located on the ceiling of the vehicle.

Photos released by the automaker shows the vehicle's cabin which shows a 7-inch screen has replaced an instrument cluster and the gearshift lever has been replaced with pushbutton controls.

Hybrid Air combines a gas engine with a hydraulic motor, which weighs approximately 220 lbs, or half the weight of a conventional hybrid.

Citroen has promised more will be revealed, like what kind of features the vehicle will come with, in early 2014.
