One of the most well-known scenes from a James Bond movie included a Lotus Esprint sports vehicle that was capable of turning into a submarine. If you've ever dreamed of owning the vehicle yourself, you'll have your chance this September.
One of the vehicles used during the 1977 movie "The Spy Who Loved Me" will be up for action on Sept. 9 in London according USA Today.
Unfortunately the winning bidder won't be able to drive off of a road and straight into water however, as a number of Lotus vehicles were modified and used for different purposes during filming.
"Can you swim?" said actor Roger Moore, who played 007 in the film, during the Lotus' big scene to Barbara Bach, who played Anya Amasova.
One of vehicles was designed for up-close scenes to show the wheels retracting, where as another was used to show "the launching of a surface-to-air missile" according to USA Today.
The vehicle seen underwater in the movie appeared to be dry inside as 007 was allowed to escape death once again. In actuality, the vehicle was completely wet, and was operated by a retired Navy SEAL from the lone seat inside the vehicle.
The submarine moved using four propellers in the rear according to USA Today.
The custom vehicle is expected to sell for around $1 million and $1.5 million next month. There is no reserve or minimum price according to RM Auctions.
