A large sinkhole has been swallowing up land and trees in Louisiana and now a video of a recent incident has gone viral.
The sinkhole has supposedly been getting bigger and evidence of this is clear in the video, which shows a large tree getting swallowed in just seconds.
OEP Director John Bourdreaux said that the sinkhole "continues to be active and grow" and has expanded 24 acres since last August alone according to The Inquisitr.
Over 350 nearby residents have left their homes as they fear the sinkhole could swallow their homes eventually.
Experts feel that the sinkhole was most likely created by the petrochemical company Texas Brine. The company supposedly tried building a salt cavern in Assumption Parrish, but instead they created a 750-deep sinkhole.
The video was originally posted on the Assumption Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness blog.
Earlier this month, a 40 to 50 foot sinkhole swallowed a portion of a Disney World resort in Orlando.
