Actor Dick Van Dyke is reportedly OK after being rescued from his burning sports car on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles.

The 87-year-old was assisted from his Jaguar by Jason Pennington, who pulled over after noticing flames coming from Van Dykes' vehicle.

Van Dyke required no medical attention according to the Associated Press.

Two eastbound lanes of the freeway were briefly temporarily, but have since been reopened.

"He was able-bodied at the scene. He was able to get out of the car himself," California Highway Patrol spokesman Leland Tang said according to the New York Daily News.

Van Dyke's wife posted a Vine clip of the incident, and the actor tweeted to world to let everyone know he was doing fine.

Pennington said after getting out of his car he saw an elderly man "hunched over at the wheel" struggling to get out.

He thought that Van Dyke had passed out at one point, but the actor claims he was "looking down and dialing his phone."

The Hollywood legend is for his roles in "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "Mary Poppins," and "Night at the Museum."
