Apple is preparing to release its next device this fall and the new smartphone may be waterproof according the latest rumors.

The next iPhone device is expected to be revealed at a scheduled media event on September 10, and most media outlets seem to think it will be the iPhone 6.

A report by StableyTimes.com indicates the next device will be released to the public on September 20, just 10 days after the media event.

The iPhone 6 may come with an updated camera to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Nokia Luma 1020. Latest rumors claim the next device will come with a 12-megapixel camera, with a HDR setting and low-light shooting capability.

A larger screen is also expected according to the International Business Times. A 4.6 or 4.8-inch screen is expected for the next iPhone, which would help it compete with the Galaxy S4.

Other rumored specs for the new phone include:

-a A7 quad core processor

-a 128 GB storage option

-retina+ display

-fingerprint sensor

Apple is expecting such a high demand for the new device they've reportedly hired 40,000 new employees to get phones out quick enough.

If the iPhone 6 isn't the next device, Apple will likely release the iPhone 5S and iPhone Lite instead at the media event.

Make sure to check back here in September once the next iPhone is revealed.
