The 2014 Mini Cooper will debut on November 18, and will make an appearance at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show and the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The new Mini Cooper will make it to dealerships in the first quarter of 2014.

"Completely new engines and chassis technologies, Mini Connected innovations and refined premium quality will make it the new benchmark for driving enjoyment in its class," said Mini in a statement on Wednesday.

The 2014 Mini Cooper's may look similar to its Mini Vision concept.

The concept featured a retro hexagonal grille, a simpler car panel, and nose according to Mini. Larger headlight clusters have also been rumored according to Edmunds.

The vehicle will feature either or both a standard six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic.

The November 18 date isn't just some random release date, but actually marks an important anniversary for the automaker.

"107 years to the day since the birth of the man who started an automobile revolution," said Mini in a press statement about Sir Alec Issigonis.

Issigonis died on 1988 according to Mini.
