After a public announcement was made that a woman was trapped on the platform, approximately 40 people joined train officials to help push the carriage off according to the Associated Press.

The train was built to sway from side-to-side to compensate for the cars' movements. This allowed the passengers a chance to push the car off of the platform according to JR East Spokesman Takashi Tsukahara.

The woman, who has not been identified, was pulled out uninjured to the applause of the crowd at the JR Minami-Urawa station.

The train was up and running after just an eight-minute delay.
