A scared impala separated from its herd escaped a group of hungry cheetahs this week by jumping through a window of a tourist's car.
A group of tourists were in the middle of a safari when they witnessed the cheetah hunt. A herd of impalas ran through the cars with the cheetahs close behind.
One of the impalas, who appeared to be just seconds away from death, decided to leap through the window of one of the cars.
None of the people in the car were injured during the incident according to Barcroft TV.
"We started freaking out going crazy," said Samantha Pittendrigh, 20, who filmed the incident. "We couldn't believe it - we were absolutely dumbstruck. We had absolutely no idea what was going on. We watched the cheetah chasing the impala. We saw a few of them turn around in the bushes towards the road they were running from."
The people in the vehicle were able to get the door open and let the impala back out into the wild.
By the time the impala was released, the cheetah had already run away in search of food elsewhere according to Business Insider.
The incident took place in South Africa and a video of the cheetah's quick decision has since gone viral.
What do you think of the video and the impala's quick thinking?
