A track-only 2014 McLaren 12C GT Spring was revealed this week ahead of its scheduled world debut at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
McLaren Spokeswoman Michele Shapiro said to Edmunds that the new model will be available in the U.S. Only 20 cars will be delivered initially in 2013, though more are expected in 2014.
The U.S. equivalent of $298,000 in the U.K., and the formal price will be revealed closer towards the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The car comes with a fire-extinguisher system and FIA-approved roll cage.
The vehicle is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine, which is capable of achieving 616 horsepower.
