A riderless horse named Downtown Hottie finished first at a race at New York's Belmont Park on June 26 after throwing her jockey off shortly after the race started.

Usually when a race horse loses its jockey during a race it strays off course, but Downtown Hottie kept going at normal pace right in the middle of the pack for most of the race.

Midway through the race however Downtown Hottie made her move through the other racers and won almost a full length, or eight feet, in front of the runner up who was a horse named Whole Lotta Shakin'.

Unfortunately the horse was disqualified from the race as are all horses finishing without a jockey.

You can watch the race in the video below, Downtown Hottie is the number 2 horse.

The video of the race has since gone viral collecting over 30,000 hits on YouTube as of press time.

Downtown Hottie's 115 pound jockey Luis Saez was not injured from the fall according to the Daily Mail.

So what do you think of the race? Were you impressed by the horse's performance or because it didn't count it doesn't matter?
