A bus carrying tourists in Romania crashed over the side railing of a bridge in Montenegro, killing at least 18 people and injuring another 29.
The initial death total rose to 16 last night according to the Associated Press. Those who survived were taken to hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
Police still haven't been able to figure out what caused the driver to lose control. Officials sent a plane to Montenegro from Bucharest to take the 27 surviving passengers away from the scene.
"The driver drove a little too fast and the bus slid," said Carmen Dorobet, a survivor of the crash.
The identities of the victims have not yet been revealed. Forensic pathologist Miodrag Soc said that the victims will be identified by their families.
A 12-year-old boy who was on the bridge at the time of the crash was also injured and taken to a hospital according to the Associated Press.
"Unfortunately, we lost 18 people and that is a huge tragedy for Romania," the health ministry official Arafat said, speaking in Podgorica.
In 2006, a train slid off the railroad in the same area, and 47 passengers killed.
