Famous Hollywood director Michael Bay is a huge car buff, featuring iconic vehicles in his popular action movies. Some of his best work came in the Bad Boys movie franchise, with the stunning 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo 964 playing an important role in that film.
Bay featured that car prominently in the movie with Hollywood superstar Will Smith at the wheel. Bay was also the proud owner of that 964 Turbo. That placed Bay in rare company as Porsche sold just 1,500 units of that said vehicle in a two-year stretch from 1993 to 1994.
Bay makes big mistake with Porsche 911 sale
Bay did not keep that car in his collection for some weird reason, selling the legendary Porsche to his friend for a measly sum of $60,000 a few years ago. That might be one of the worst decisions of Bay's life as the car he sold just netted someone a cool $1.3 million at a recent car auction.

Bay took to social media platform Instagram to air his frustration, saying, "Can you F-ing believe my personal Porsche I put in Bad Boys 1 - I sold for 60k to a friend,- today just sold at a car auction for $1,300,000 ! Boy was I stupid not to keep it! I gave my friend a deal because I liked him. But he sold it for 45k. No one knows but that car was stolen out of my garage. Recovered. By me."

Bay to sell Transformers cars for $2 million
Given that it was a rare Porsche and the iconic vehicle appeared in a Michael Bay movie starring Will Smith, the Turbo 964 was expected to sell for seven figures at the Mecum Auctions in Florida. Bay was not the only one who lost out in that deal. His friend sold the car to another person for just $45,000, $15,000 lower than the amount he paid to Bay.
Bay may be regretting big time his decision to part ways with his now super expensive Porsche, but that has not stopped the "Pearl Harbor" director from selling other famous cars in his garage. Bay has teamed up with Curated, a company specializing in vintage and supercars, to sell four vehicles from his popular Transformers series.
The vehicles are being offered by Bay as a set collection, with the price for the cars set at a staggering $2 million. That may be a steal, though, given the cars' place in Hollywood history. The cars' values may also increase years from now, just like what happened to Bay's 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo 964. The 964 still packs a punch, with the car having a top speed of 183 mph and a 0-60 of just 4.7 seconds.
