This year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) allowed companies to display their latest concepts and innovations. One of those was Bugatti, which finally joined the burgeoning electric vehicle market. The French company launched an all-electric foldable scooter in partnership with Bytech International.
Bugatti teams up with Bytech to expand reach in the EV market
Bugatti International's managing director Wiebke Stahl lauded the joint venture, saying that partnering with a company such as Bytech gives Bugatti an opportunity to expand their reach in the electric mobility space with an experienced partner and deliver a product that consumers around the world can enjoy.
The two companies designed the vehicle for everyday use, with the scooter available in three colors--Silver, Black, and Agile Blue. It is relatively light, with the scooter weighing just 35 pounds. The vehicle, primarily built using a magnesium alloy, relies on a 700-watt electric motor for its power. The scooter can reach a top speed of 18.5 miles per hour.

According to Bugatti, the design of the scooter both serves an aerodynamic and functional purpose. The vehicle's magnesium alloy frame holds a portable battery pack that can be easily removed. A single charge of this battery can help the scooter last for a distance of around 22 miles.
The scooter has three driving modes to choose from-- City, Sport, and Economy. The scooter also has an available cruise control function to help the rider during the journey.
This scooter is different from other two-wheel vehicles because it relies on a dual-breaking system for safety. Turn signals are also included in the scooter and a large LED screen that displays not only the vehicle's speed but also its battery life, light status, and riding mode.
Speaking of light status, the scooter's frame is equipped with wraparound taillights. For aesthetics, an "EB" monogram logo is projected behind the vehicle as it is being operated. The scooter also has sidelights that help create a cloud of light below it, bringing an additional form of safety to the rider as he navigates the roads.

Bugatti, the latest auto company, to design electric 2-wheelers
Bugatti is not the only automotive company to dabble in two-wheeled electric vehicles. BMW partnered with Micro to develop their own electric scooter back in 2019 and recently tried creating an electric cargo bike.
Porsche also has its own line of e-bikes and Barcelona-based SEAT, which formed a partnership with Segway-Ninebot to develop their electric scooters. Rivian is another automaker trying to enter the electric scooter market, recently filing a new trademark for its brand. Rivian is known in the industry for being the first company to market an all-electric pickup truck.
