Transformers 4 News: Optimus Prime Gets an Upgrade, Bumblebee Becomes a 1967 Camaro, New Autobots Designs Revealed by Michael Bay (PHOTOS/ VIDEO)

Hollywood director Michael Bay has been keeping his fans in the loop during preparations for his next Transformers film, and this week he released two photographs that indicate "Transformers 4" will be unlike the previous three.

The first photo revealed on Bay's website is a modified Optimus Prime.

While the photos show the vehicle with familiar blue and yellow paint, with orange flames similar to the first three movies, Prime has been "completely upgraded and custom built" for "Transformers 4" by Western Star, a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America.

Arguably the second most popular vehicle of the franchise, Bumblebee, received a more drastic makeover for the next movie. Like Prime, the vehicle will still feature the same paint job but will instead be a 1967 Camaro SS. Bay has said Bumblebee looks more like the original vehicle that Sam, played by Shia LaBeouf, purchased in the first film.

"Obviously, Camaro has played a role in the three previous movies, and we're excited to hear that it will play a part in the fourth," said Chevy spokesman Monte Doran according to The Detroit News.

Two Autobots were also revealed on Bay's website, as four have officially been unveiled that will be appearing in the next movie. A photo of a Decepticon has not been released by Bay as of press time.

Bay spoke last year about the idea of a fourth installment in the Transformers franchise and said if another movie was to be made, it would "absolutely" be his last.

"Here's the thing, it's tough to find someone who's done these kind of movies, and to have the complication of creating the new stuff that needs to be in this movie, not just characters but a new type of action, I hope, and that's a lot for someone new to bite off," said Bay to the Los Angeles Times. "And so after this one I will leave it in the best hands possible. That's the plan."

"Transformers 4" will star Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Nicola Peltz, and Kelsey Grammer according to IMDB.

The new movie is set to be released in theaters on June 27, 2014.
