"Fast and Furious" star Michelle Rodriguez confirmed this week that a seventh movie will begin filming this September according to the Inquisitr.
That's not all the actress revealed however, it seems Universal is looking to get the film out in time for summer 2014.
"They just announced that 'Fast & Furious 7' shoots in September and will release in 2014 next year in July," said Rodriguez while on the show "Cafecito."
Multiple media outlets like ScreenCrush.com have said Universal is planning on releasing the movie on July 11, a fact not yet confirmed by the movie studio. Either way "Fast and Furious 7" is on track to become the first movie in the franchise's history to be released after June.
James Wan has already agreed to direct the next installment. Wan is known for his work with the "Saw" franchise as well as the movie "Insidious" according to IMDB.
The film's star Vin Diesel recently confirmed in an interview that the next film will take place in Tokyo and the move to the Middle East somewhere according to Digital Spy. Exact locations have yet to be revealed as of press time.
It didn't take long for Universal to decide on whether to make yet another sequel or not, as "Fast and Furious 6" has already made $314 million worldwide, a number that's expected to grow this weekend.
If Rodriguez is telling the truth, this would mean that the spin-off movie planed for Dwyane "The Rock Johnson might be put on hold until 2015.
Johnson confirmed recently to Empire that Universal's goal is to eventually have his character leave the franchise to create movies that revolves around his character Luke Hobbs.
"Possibly after this one or after the next one, possibly. I'm not quite too sure. I know that's the goal and we continue to build that character and have him take shape. But yes, I can't wait," Johnson said to Empire last March.
