The editors of Kelley Blue Book selected the 2013 Prius V and the 2013 Avalon for their list of 10 Best Family Cars.
The annual list is compiled by KBB.com editors to recognize vehicles that address specific family specifications and situations, while also offer "innovation" according to Kelley Blue Book.
Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com has said that their annual list is "aimed" towards helping families find the right vehicle and always include something for all kinds of people.
"Show us 10 families and we'll suggest a different car for each, but all of those vehicles will score high in areas like safety, roominess, comfort and value," said Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com. "Our annual list is aimed at helping families find the right ride and always includes something for everyone, with a special nod to the best of what's new."
The first Toyota that made the list was the 2013 Toyota Prius V according to the company press release.
Editors at Kelley Blue Book claims the new Prius comes with all the "Prius-ness" people crave and offers approximately 50 percent more cargo space than its predecessor.
Plus-sizing for the vehicle reduced the combined mileage from 50 to 42 mpg, the Prius remains one of the "top" family-friendly vehicles.
The second Toyota model to make the list is the new Avalon vehicle.
Known for its "spacious interior quarters" and abundance of luxury features, the redesigned Avalon will also be known for its style according to Toyota.
The company set out to improve the Avalon, and the editors at Kelley Blue Book claim the new model is very reliable and an overall "smart buy" for today's value-conscious family.
