The test mule was spotted with heavy camouflage but some noticeable points give out some hints. The new sports car does not have side doors. It can be recalled that Giampaola Dallara, founder of Dallara, has earlier teased that they are developing a new car that will not be a regular vehicle because it will not have a door.
Furthermore, another significant detail from the spy photos reveals that the new car from Dallara sports has small wheels. However, the new sports car also wears a huge rear wing. These aspects hint that the new car will rely on the wing for gripping and not solely on the tires.
The new road-legal car from Dallara appears to be very small. Apparently, the company is aiming to produce an 800-kg model only.
The new sports car is expected to run with Ford's turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. It has the capacity to deliver 350 hp, which is similar with Ford Focus RS.
In a previous report by Autocar, Dallara has teased that the new model has been planned to come out with a price tag that is more expensive than $78,000 tag of KTM-X-Bow. Giampaola Dallara explained that the higher price tag of the upcoming model is due to its higher performance. Dallara boasts that the new sports car is coming out with more advanced technology features than its rivals.
Dallara has not confirmed the release date and if the new road-legal model will also hit the showrooms in the United States. The founder has announced last year that the new sports car is projected to be finished by the end of last year, in time with his 80th birthday. Moreover, Giampaola Dallara also mentioned that it will be his last car.
However, it seems that the timetable has changed as the new model did not make its grand debut last year. With the spy photos circulating now on the web, it seems that the new sports car is getting ready to be introduced soon. Check out Motortrend's album of spy photos for more details.
