The 2017 Lexus IS 200t is known to be the company's most attainable alternative to the popular European luxury sedan competition. Equipped with a well-honed ride, ample features, and a very low noise level, it has the refinement to be a convincing choice.
For 2017, the IS 200t gets a little cosmetic face-lift that includes a larger air intake in the bumper, a new grille, and new LED headlights. At the rear, revised exhaust tips and taillights are installed. The car also comes with last year's optional suite of driver assistance safety features as standard equipment and minor interior style and control revisions and a much bigger display screen for the available navigation system.
The 2017 Lexus IS 200t is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder engine that produces only 241 hp and 25 lb-ft of torque. However, it's barely behind the V6 that is available in the more expensive IS 300 that makes 255 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque and is among the best when it comes to refinement.
Unfortunately, there is no other trim level for the IS 200t. All IS 200t sedans will be powered by the same engine mentioned above, and it will be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Standard equipment will include LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, 17-inch wheels, a sunroof, a 10-speaker sound system, premium vinyl seat upholstery, a 7-inch display screen, and keyless entry and ignition. In addition, Eighteen-inch wheels are optional, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and a heated steering wheel. For an extra cost, customers can opt for the F Sport package which comes with an updated exterior styling, sport front seats, a sport-tuned suspension and special interior trim.
The 2017 Lexus IS 200t sedan base price starts at $37,825. The automaker claims the IS 200t can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 143 mph.
