Ford Motor April sales increased 18 percent compared to the same time in 2011, and posted the best April sales since 2007. Car sales increased 21 percent, utility sales increased 16 percent, and trucks rose 16 percent according to a company press release.
Fusion continued its strong sales run in 2013 with its best April sales ever, as Ford sold approximately 26,722 vehicles last month. This number represents a 24 percent increase over record year-ago April levels according to Ford.
Sales for the new Fusion doubled in western and southeastern U.S.

"We are working harder than ever to keep pace with record demand for our all-new, fuel-efficient Fusion and Escape, with sales growth particularly strong on the coasts," said Ken Czubay, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. "F-Series pickups also continue to build on their momentum as the housing and construction industries rebound."
Last month, Lincoln sales increased 21 percent according to Ford. The new Lincoln MKZ established an all-time monthly sales record selling approximately 4,012 vehicles sold for the month. This is the first time the Lincoln broke the 4,000 vehicle mark ever.
Escape vehicles also experienced its strongest April sales since first being released over 13 years ago. Ford reported a 52 percent increase for Escape vehicles, selling 25,826 models in April.
Sales of the company's best-selling pickup, the Ford F-Series, increased 24 percent with 59,030 pickups sold according to the company release.
This represents F-Series best April sales results since 2006. It also is the 21st straight monthly sales increase for F-Series, with sales up overall 19 percent year to date according to Ford.
