The new Skoda Yeti is expected to come riding on a new platform, all equipped with the best and latest automotive technology. It is also fitting for it to have a new name as it is tipped to be called the Karoq.
It has been reported that the Yeti's successor, the Karoq will almost be similar to Seat Ateca. To give it a different treatment, it will get a Kodiaq-inspired styling and design but on a smaller scale. The Karoq is also expected to use MQB architecture.
The latest generation Skoda Yeti, which may be called the Karoq is expected to have its official public debut next year. Reports on the exact date or venue have yet to be finalized, however, it is most likely to be shown in one of the top Motor Shows in Europe.
There are also reports suggesting that the Skoda Yeti/Karoq may be introduced this summer, sometime between June and August and may be followed by two more SUVs. The two other SUVs may come with one that is friendlier on the budget based on the underpinnings of the current Yeti and the other one as the Kodiaq Coupe.

Some car enthusiasts and industry experts are not a fan of the name Karoq. Many even question the relation of the letter "Q" with Skoda as most of its cars end in Q like that Kodiaq and this upcoming Yeti, the Karoq. Many do suggest to keep the Yeti as it is and not have it changed at all.
Whether it gets changed or not, the Skoda Yeti is one impressive all-around SUV. Upon its official release, the Yeti has been getting good sales such that it combines car-like handling with a touch of off-roading capabilities. It also comes with spacious interior perfect for families and even their pets. It has been a favorite in its category and may remain this way for years to come.
As it is slated to have a name change, industry experts may not welcome it as much. Fans have already known the Yeti name and changing it may bring an additional cost to the company for having it reintroduced and re-marketed. Whether Skoda Yeti remains as is or be changed as the Karoq, it will be the best of its kind. After all, it is just a name.
