Talk about tough choices--with the US market releasing the soaring price tag of Audi RS3 Sedan that is nearly equally the same price with BMW M2. Now, when taking a (lengthy) time to consider what to choose and what to buy, this is where customers weigh down each car's pros and cons--no matter how genuinely majestic both of these wheels are.
With Audi RS3 Sedan's princely value of $55 450, it elegantly presents its 2.5-liter turbocharged I5 engine just under the hood. That same engine makes 400hp.
It also has a seven-speed dual clutch automatic as a standard. And an all-wheel drive that can run a 0-60mph in just 3.9 short seconds. Again, talk about majestic--and furiously fast--wheels.
On the other hand, comes BMW M2 that has 365hp from its 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 engine, a six-speed manual transmission as standard. It takes 4.3 seconds to get from 0-60mph. Though it's less powerful and slower (just by 0.4 seconds), it ain't bad, right?
It also costs less $2950 than Audi's, which gives fans a price of $52 500. 62 But the seven-speed DCT gearbox of BMW M2 despite the tenth of a slower mph time. As though the time difference was surprisingly a big deal, it is a detail that makes BMW a little better and adds a plus point to a score.
The RS3 Sedan, however, is considerably faster, has four doors, much usable back seats and all-weather capable with its Quattro all-wheel drive. It also represents a better value for $55 450. 30
M2's steering and wheel provide more feels and emotional connection to the driver with its steering, sharper and more direct wheels. It is also a rear-wheel drive only. And it comes as standard with electronically controlled limited-slip differentials at the rear axle- -which is not a natural on the Audi, the competitor.
On easy terms, M2 is more of a sports car that thrives in twisty grounds while the Audi is fine quicker in a smooth, straight line. On overall observations, Audi RS3 Sedan is decidedly faster that provides better performance.
However, BMW M2 provides a more connecting and exciting feel at the touch of the wheel. With an almost close price, it just boils down to one's preferences, which may also depend on the driver's personality as a person.
