What Makes Buick Regal GS Better Than Mazda 6? Check Out Its Mid-Size Sedan Competitors

The Mazda 6 is overrated as a midsize sedan car. But is it really better than its mid-size sedan competitors? Or is it better to buy a Buick Regal GS instead? Tough choice!

Mazda 6 has a lot of bang for one's buck -- but only on its sporty look. The source mentioned that the car is SLOW -- in caps! Considering that Mazda has already made use of the "Zoom-Zoom" brand tagline for some time, it is exceedingly surprising that the Mazda6 has this speed problem.

Wonder why it's much slower than its mid-size sedan category competitors? Driving breaks it down in small details.

Firstly, Driving reports the Mazda 6 is overrated because it has only 1 choice of engine -- a 2.5 liter with four-cylinder one. This type of engine generates only 184 horsepower which makes the Mazda 6 overrated and technically, the least powerful in its category.

With no turbo-charged engine, the Mazda 6 competes with the V-6 powered Accord and Passat. The Accord runs on 278 horsepower, while the Passat runs on 280 horsepower.

Interested buyers might also consider the Sonata and Fusion cars, both hybrids, are much more powerful and faster than the Mazda 6. The Sonata, manufactured by Hyundai, was voted in 2015 as the best mid-size car for families, while Ford's Fusion was tagged as "the BMW of Consumer-Grade Sedans" by car review websites.

So why recommend the Buick Regal GS over the Mazda 6? Online Reports that a secondhand Buick Regal GS, with a manual gearbox and 260 horsepower can be bought at the ballpark price of USD22,500, same as a new Mazda 6.

The secondhand Buick Regal GS also comes with leather seats, navigation, Brembo brakes, and other luxury features. Also, the 2017 Mazda 6 has 3 models- the Sport, Touring and Grand Touring. A new Mazda 6 GT car will cost buyers roughly $34,000, while a new Buick Regal GS will only cost $30,000.

So, is it right that a Mazda 6 is overrated while a Buick Regal GS is a great bargain to buy? Find out at the nearest dealer!
