The updated 2017 GMC Acadia is known as the prototypical midsize crossover vehicle. It's a little bit smaller in size compared to all the top five-passenger contenders in the segment, but it's still a sizable SUV that is capable of functioning as the sole family hauler thanks to its three rows of seats.
GMC has finally given its great Acadia SUV a full redesign after nine years of production. The 2017 model is smaller, lighter with a shorter wheelbase, making the vehicle a much better proportioned than the minivan-like old one. It's a beautiful car with a chrome grille, 20-inch wheels, rectangular exhaust tips and body-coloured plastic trim.
This 2017 GMC Acadia midsize SUV comes with seating for five, six or seven passengers and is also offered in SL, SLT, SLE, and Denali trim levels. The SL trim is essential, but it's still well-equipped.
The seven-seater base SL trim is only offered with a middle bench seat and equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 193 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch alloy wheels, front-wheel drive, heated mirror, cruise control. Keyless ignition and entry, a driver information display, a four-way manually adjustable driver seat, and tri-zone automatic climate control.
On the inside, a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel is available, Bluetooth connectivity, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone app integration, a rearview camera, a 7-inch LCD touchscreen, OnStar, and a six-speaker stereo with a USB-auxiliary audio input. The SLE1 only adds LED running lights and satellite radio. However, the SLE2 levels up with 18-inch wheels, a power liftgate with programmable height stops, foglights, roof rails, remote ignition, and an eight-way power adjustable driver seat and heated front seats.
Choosing the SLT1 adds an upgraded color driver information display, an eight-speaker Bose audio system with a subwoofer, a 120-volt power outlet, a universal garage door opener, an auto-dimming driver side and rearview mirror, and leather upholstery. On the other hand, the SLT2 trim adds 20-inch wheels, a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. Other features include a Driver Alert II package that comes with a supporting Driver Alert I features plus lane keeping assist, automatic high beams, front parking sensors, low-speed forward collision mitigation and a safety alert driver feature.
Finally, the 2017 GMC Acadia's top of the line Denali trim rounds out the lineup with polished wheels, a unique grille, an 8-inch touchscreen, xenon headlights, a configurable virtual gauge display, heated and ventilated seats, a navigation system and much more. The price of the 2017 Acadia will vary on the trim levels.
