Former Tennessee Titans cheerleader Elizabeth Leigh Garner as arrested after she was accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy according to CBS affiliate WTVF.
Garner, 42, was officially charged with aggravated sexual battery and solicitation of a minor. If convicted she could face up to eight years in prison according to TMZ.
The report claims Garner, who was a cheerleader for the Tennessee Titans through 2009, was at a party at the young boy's house when the incident occurred. She allegedly followed him in to a bathroom, touched him over his pants, and asked him if he'd "ever been with a woman" before according to TMZ.
The former cheerleader has already talked to multiple media outlets about the accusations and claims they are false and that she "is innocent."
"That's just absolutely no excuse for sexual assaulting a child. If you can't tell the difference between a 12-year-old and an adult then there are problems," said Kyle Evans with the Murfreesboro Police Department to WTVF.
Garner posted $30,000 bond and will next appear in court where she will try to explain why she's being accused of trying to seduce a minor. Her current story is that she "was very drunk" and mistook the boy for "an adult male."
A lot of important information regarding the incident has yet to be revealed, like why she was at the party to begin with and where her husband was at the time. It is also currently unknown if the ex-cheerleader has any children of her own.
Garner made headlines around the country in 2008 after being named a Titans cheerleader despite being significantly older than most of her colleagues. She has been off of the cheerleading squad for almost four years.
The incident comes not long after former cheerleader and high school teacher Sarah Jones pleaded guilty to having "sexual relations" with one of her students according to the Los Angeles Times.
