A year ago, Ford sold over 134,588 Edge crossovers, and now the Blue Oval is targeting to increase sales even further by offer a brand new SEL Sport Appearance Package with the 2018 Edge. The new package will bring more equipment and visual add-ons to Ford's crossover.
Debuting at the Dallas-Fort Worth Auto Show, the SEL Sport Appearance Package adds many cosmetic upgrades to the interior and exterior of the new Edge. The upgrades begin with 10-spoke 19-inch wheels, the Edge SEL comes standard with 18s, and Edge Sport comes with a 20-inch rolling stock.
The Sport Appearance pack also paints the grille surround, rear spoilers, mirrors, and skid plates in Magnetic Metallic, while the headlights and side-window trim are all blacked out. Inside, gray-and-umber cloth upholstery is offered on the seats. The automaker said that it chose to offer cloth seats on this high option car because of most customers like in hot climates, like Texas, prefer cloth than leather seats in the summer.
The 2018 Ford Edge cloth seats are a little more luxurious than most since it features an Umber-colored Mike suede cloth perforated inserts and suede cloth on its front seat headrest. Choosing a Sport Appearance package will also give customers a lot of features that are optional on the Edge SEL, including a panoramic sunroof, the Sync 3 infotainment system, black roof rails, and a power liftgate.
Under the hood, customers can pick between two engines. It offers a standard 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-four that produces 254 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. The other optional engine is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 280 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. Both the front and all-wheel-drive models are available. Also, both are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2018 Ford Edge new SEL Sport Appearance package will add $1,295 to the total cost of the car. It is scheduled to become available in this fall.
