The 2017 Land Rover Discovery SUV is finally here. It logged its first stop in South Carolina and will be at a special showing this week at Land Rover West Ashley.
The all-new Land Rover Discovery SUV boasts a slightly curved body. Its third-row seating is spacious enough for a large family.
The new HSE Lux model is currently priced at $80,510. It caught the attention of thousands of fans from Tuesday through Friday at the dealership on Savannah Highway.
Dealership Sales Associate, Jim Wicks, said, "This is a traveling demonstration." By now, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery SUV has made its way to North Carolina.
According to Wicks, the Lowcountry is expected to see its first models for sale from late May to early June. "So far, we've got several orders in place" for pickup towards the end of May.
"This (the new Discovery) is considered a mid-sized SUV," Wicks continued. The best thing is that the model seats seven passengers. The back chairs are not solely for children. "You can put a 6-foot, 3-inch (person) in the third row," Wicks said. It is also equipped with an extra interior tailgate which keeps items from falling out the back when the seats are raised.
When the seats are lowered, it serves as a comfortable bench for tailgate parties. The best part is that electronic controls can also lift or set flat the individual second and third-row seats.
The luxury edition of the Land Rover Discover SUV also boasts a cool new feature where the owners can use a smartphone app to remotely view gas mileage range. The app also shows odometer figures, and it can also be used to adjust seats.
The new model also boasts rear seat entertainment. The screens are built into the back of the first-row headrests. It can play DVDs, satellite radio, and other media.
The screens come with wireless headphones. The 2017 Land Rover Discovery SUV offers four trim levels. First is the entry-level SE starts at $49,990.
On the other hand, Land Rover offers the HSE Lux carries a $65,950 price tag as its suggested retail price. It can top $80,000 with added extras.
