The 2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid has an SUV body and supercar’s DNA. The car is forged from innovations that are found in the iconic NSX supercar such Sport Hybrid super handling all-wheel drive system, dual-clutch transmission, and active damper system. Discover everything that Acura MDX Sport Hybrid has to offer.
As reported by Kelley Blue Book, the refreshed 2017 MDX was unveiled last year at the New York Auto Show but without too many details. Acura has finally provided the final details on the powertrain specs, packaging, and pricing of the new Sport Hybrid variant. 2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid comes with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that drives the front wheels via 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with an integrated motor and a Twin Motor Unit that energizes the rear wheels. Together, they output 321 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque. In addition to being quicker than its conventional sibling, the MDX Sport Hybrid is more fuel efficient as well. It has EPA ratings of 26 mpg in the city, 27mpg on the highway, and 27mpg combined.
The MDX Sport Hybrid can be configured to a wide range of driving tastes thanks to its SH-AWD system with 4-Mode Integrated Dynamics System, and its active dampers and rear-wheel torque vectoring. The vehicle also has the AcuraWatch safety features that include collision mitigation braking, forward collision warnings and lane departure, adaptive cruise with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, and road departure mitigation. Pricing for the 2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid with Technology Package starts at $52,935, while the MDX SH-AWD with Advance Package opens at $58,975.
According to Telegram, the 2017 Acura MDX AWD Advance Package is neither super modern nor extravagantly luxurious. The Advance trim is on the top of the MDX line, which includes the Standard and well-equipped Technology trim, but it still falls short in comparison to an Audi Q6 or Volvo XC90. On top of that, if you want to save money, you can go for Honda Pilot which is less expensive, but like the Acura, it is also well-made and well-equipped.
