It's Thursday and another expected instalment teaser trailer of the highly anticipated 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has been unleashed. This possessed muscle could be one of the meanest sounding vehicles to burn rubber.
The latest teaser trailer, entitled "Pills," you can clear hear, or notice, the roar of the demon within this possessed muscle car. And this is not due to its uprated supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8 engine.

The teaser explains how the gas leaves the supercharged engine via a staged exhaust just before the Demon launches down the strip. There are more than 1,000 revs running on that monstrous vehicle.
In fact, the unique exhaust sound of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the product of advanced torque reserve launch system, explains Dodge. Note that this is the very first that this system is first ever designed for drag racing in a production car, reports MotorTrend.
This is how it works: When the driver turns on Launch Mode, the bypass valve on the supercharger will close. This is known as prefilling the supercharger. Then, the engine control unit will manage fuel flow to the cylinders and change ignition timing. Because of these adjustments, the supercharger builds more boost without overwhelming the brakes and letting the rear tires spin, explains Motor1.
You get that exhaust tone when the system briefly cuts the fuel flow to the selected cylinders to manage torque. That's why the note is different just before launching down the line. Dodge claims that those with knowledge of this kind of system "will hear extreme performance, but those who don't will think something is wrong with the engine."
Also, notice the license plate on the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon in the teaser video? The first set of numbers, 3.9, is definitely is not the Demon's time for its 0-60mph sprint as its Performance Pages last week revealed a 3-second flat time.
So, what can you make out of this? And if you want to download the unique exhaust tone of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, head on out to the promotional Website and also on iTunes.
The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be unleashed on April 11. But before then, there are 5 more teaser videos to watch out for. So, stay tuned.
