The 2015 Ford Mustang equipped with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine will be released in the U.S. and Europe according to a report by Road & Track.

"You only have to look at the incredible response to Mustang when it has appeared this summer at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, in the U.K., and at the Le Mans Classic, in France, to get a sense of the excitement this American icon generates across Europe," said Stephen Odell, Ford of Europe CEO, in a statement at the Geneva Motor Show.

Rumors starts spreading on the web about the 2015 vehicle, but most could only confirm that the model would be sold in just Europe. This was determined not true however, much to the excitement of Mustang fans in the U.S.

Ford has released a limited amount of information about the new car, including a drastic change to the cars body and interior.

Unconfirmed reports have indicated that the 2.3-liter turbo engine could be 300 horsepower, which is around the same amount the 3.7-liter V6 Mustang according to DigitalTrends.com.

The horsepower could be higher however, but that depends on if the company increases the turbo for the new Mustang from the base V-6, 305 horsepower option.

The 2015 model will also include independent rear suspension, which would be a first since the 2004 SVT Cobra.

"The Mustang is uniquely Ford and has a huge fan base here in Europe. Now those fans have something to look forward to and we look forward to providing more details in the near future," said Odell at the Geneva Motor Show according to Edmunds.

The federal government's Corporate Average Fuel Economy requirements will make automotive companies sell vehicles that average more than 30 miles per gallon by 2016 according to Road & Track.

Improved GT models could get the 5-liter V-8 option, but many media outlets confirm that the vehicle could be released for a limited time only.
