Steven Tyler is known for a lot of things but buying expensive cars isn't one of them. That changed this week when the Aerosmith singer showed up at a benefit held by bandmate Joe Perry in a car worth $1.1 million.
The singer showed up at the Stuart House benefit in a Hennessey Venom GT Spyder that reportedly was a custom creation according to Yahoo.
Only five of the GT Spyder models were made, so if you're cruising around L.A. and see one, there's a very good chance Tyler is behind the wheel.
"Steven came to us last year and asked if we could build his Venom GT as a roadster. We had to make a few structural changes to our integrated rollcage in order to be able to fit the removable top," John Hennessey said in 2012 according to Yahoo. "This increased the weight of our vehicle by about 30 lbs to a curb weight of 2743 lbs. We decided to increase the Venom GTs power to 1244 bhp to maintain our 1 horsepower per 1 kilogram power to weight ratio."
The car can go from 0 to 200mph in just 16 seconds according to Yahoo, which makes it one of the fastest cars in the world.
The singer performed with Perry at the event according to the Inquisitr.
Tyler has been in the news a lot lately, as the former "American Idol" host was able to get The Steven Tyler Act passed this month.
The new act serves to protect celebrities in Hawaii, as paparazzi are now subject to criminal charges if they chose to ignore the "civil violation" that doesn't allow them to take videos or pictures of others during private moments according to the Associated Press.
The act passed with 23 out of 25 votes in Hawaii's State Senate.
