A drive-by shooting took place earlier today, Mar. 1, on a D.C. street corner that left at least 11 people wounded according to local police.
"We have confirmed that we have 11 individuals that are injured. We have mostly gunshot wounds to the legs, extremities, hands, some graze wounds," Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier confirmed during a morning news conference.
The 11 people that reported injuries were taken to the hospital after and one is reportedly in "critical condition" according to the Associated Press. He was shot in the back, but is expected to survive.
All affected victims are reportedly breathing and stable as of press time.
The shooting reportedly occurred at approximately 2:10 a.m. near North Capital Street and New York Avenue. A surveillance camera was able to capture the shooting and showed over a dozen shots being fired from two separate cars speeding by.
Police are searching for the dark colored BMW, and a light gray or silver sedan according to the Associated Press.
Detectives are currently trying to find more information about the two vehicles that appear in the video and have been interviewing witnesses most of the day.
Police posted the video in an effort to try finding the owners of the two vehicles according to The Washington Post.
The scene of the crime is often a popular hangout for those who are coming out of the dance club Fur, which can hold a total of 1,200 people.
