The limousine cum off-roader car Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet is one of the much-anticipated top of the line cars from Mercedes G-Class in this year's Geneva Motor Show. The off-roader look of this car gives a false impression that it's all "for roughing up" but the reality is it has all the conveniences of a luxury car cabin on wheels.
Autocar reported that this plush SUV is the latest in the line of high-priced models that this prestigious German automaker has manufactured from its equally famous sub-brand, Maybach. In fact, one of the more over-the-top features of this off-roader is its 621 hp twin-turbocharged 6.0 liter V12 engine that also powers Mercedes's G65. At 621 bhp, the Landaulet can travel at 5000 rpm, and a high 737 lb-ft of torque that can get it going at 2300 and 4300 rpm.
With a G-class based on the G500 4x4 and a 3428mm bigger space stretched out for its wheels, this model has wider room for the 2nd row of seats - and even more room for a 3rd row said Car Magazine UK. In fact, the additional row of seats at the back means the G650 has a soft, fabric top-down that can be furled down with a push of a button and retracts above the luggage compartment.
In keeping with the leather-lined plush cabin, the rear, first-class Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet seats can recline almost flat and are outfitted with a relaxing massage system, according to Car and Driver. Space is also an advantage wherein you can bring out from a compartment a folding table accompanied by silver champagne flutes, care of Robbe 8 Berking. This is just the peak of luxury in this car!
The automotive media report the Landaulet will be sold sometime in August 2017. The price is not yet revealed although it is guessed that it would be something like a whopping half a million euros or $550,000. But whichever way consumers look it, the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet is in a class of its own.
