The Canadian carrier Rogers will be releasing out the Android Nougat update for both Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphone starting this coming March 20. For Canadian user who is using either the smartphones as mentioned above, they will be receiving an update notification on March 20.
In February, it was announced that Rogers was testing out the Android Nougat update for the both phones and it seems like the carrier has been quick to give it final touches. The coming update is expected to be an OTA one, which the users of the two smartphones will benefit from a lot of new features and enhancements.
Users will also be able to run two applications on the same screen, take advantage of an improved battery life and access to many new collections of emojis. Meanwhile, users have the option to perform a manual check for the update by going to the Settings, then About Phone, Check for Updates, Software Update to check if the Android 7.0 Nougat software has arrived on their Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge.
Similar to the previous updates, it will take a few days after March 20 for the update to get reflected on the smartphones. So users will automatically view an update notification when Rogers will introduce the update via OTA.
The upcoming update will also get an enhanced camera setting, and keyboards upgraded. Since Rogers has announced the update, other Canadian carriers would also not want to be left behind and may decide to get the update as well.
On the other hand, T-Mobile and AT&T became the first carriers in the United States to release the updates for the owner of the two smartphones. The Android 7.0 Nougat update was rolled out for Sprint subscribers in the United States who joined the beta testing program for the two smartphones.
The Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Sprint customers is a 167 MB file, which needs to be downloaded by the users. Just this month, Verizon users in the U.S. received the Android Nougat 7.0 update on their Samsung S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
