British car manufacturer Aston Martin recently announced an all-new limited edition high-performance sub-brand. The new sub-brand is called AMR and offers enhanced performance, extreme and detailed styling, and sharper dynamics.
Aston Martin launched all-new high-performance AMR sub-brand. The car manufacturer's new sub-brand aims to produce high-performance vehicles a level up than its current line-up of cars and is described by chief creative officer Marek Reichman as the company's "cherry on the cake." The announcement of the sub-brand was made at the Geneva Auto Show.
The company revealed two new vehicles under the sub-brand just to show what AMR is very much capable of namely the Rapide AMR and the Vantage AMR Pro. To further AMR's growth, the company announced that all future model ranges will receive the AMR treatment including the car manufacturer's upcoming SUV. All vehicles with the AMR badge will be road-legal while those with AMR Pro badges will be track-only. The latter will be manufactured separately from other vehicle models by the company's Q division.
The Rapide AMR is said to be "the world's most thrilling four-door." The car manufacturer claims that it has a top speed of 338 kilometers per hour thanks to a 600-horsepower V12 engine borrowed from the Vantage GT12 and which runs on a new quad exhaust system. It sports a Stirling Green color accented with lime green and a revised front grille, side sills, front splitter, aero spoiler, and rear diffuser. It has 21-inch wheels and features a lot of carbon fiber in the interior as well as lightweight seats and trims.
The Vantage AMR Pro, on the other hand, has a 507-horsepower engine based on the V8 GT4 under its hood. It sports race-spec engine and transmission mounts as well as adjustable suspensions, center lock wheels with race tires. The company claims that it is able to provide "inspirational handling precision and exceptional levels of grip and traction."
Aston Martin stated that on only 210 units of the Rapide AMR will be produced. As for the Vantage AMR Pro, only 7 are expected to be sold in total.
