A 2016 Cadillac CTS-V bested a 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat in an exciting Half-mile race!Car enthusiasts might think the race car has an unfair advantage over the sports sedan. But that was not the case with this 2016 Cadillac CTS-V which beat a 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat in a heart-pounding drag race.
According to The Drive, two four-door sports sedans - a modified 2016 Cadillac CTS-V and a 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat went head to head in a quarter mile race to find out who is Boss! At the start, the Hellcat had a quick lead over the CTS-V. But at the 100-mile mark, the CTS-V suddenly started charging up and overtakes the Hellcat. At the finish line, the CTS-V wins at 159 mph over the Hellcat at 150 mph.
How did that happen? Well, let's piece the info together. Both sports sedans are currently the best sports sedans in the US. The 2016 CTS-V is modified and has an upgraded camshaft with 550 horsepower to keep up with the Hellcat.
The seventh generation 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat which received the SRT Hellcat treatment is definitely one power sports sedan! With a 650 lb-ft torque, it can achieve a top speed of 204 mph (328 km/h). It should out speed the CTS-V.
However, in the torque area, the CTS-V's 630 lb-ft torque has to fight the 650 lb-ft torque of the Hellcat. And gloriously it did, according to Auto Evolution. Auto Evolution also reports that the CTS-V is outfitted with a revised suspension, ZF steering system, Brembo brakes, a standard limited slip differential, etc.
So if buyers are looking for a new sports sedan in 2017, have a look at the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V. This car has been rated by The Drive a WOW Factor of 4 over 5 because of its wide choice of driving modes (sporty driving, daily driving, etc.) and an easy to handle steering wheel, as any Cadillac can offer.
