Subaru debuted the XV at this year's Geneva Motor Show. The 2018 Subaru XV, known as the Subaru Crosstrek in America, is referred to as the XV in Europe and comes with several innovative features.
According to Carscoops, the 2018 Subaru XV "promises to be much improved" compared to its predecessor. However, the XV will also be relying on a tried and tested formula.

The production model of the XV has a "more distinct look" when compared to the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. The 2018 Subaru XV sports bumpers, grille, lighting units, and side protection that exudes a "more rugged" feel, unlike the regular Impreza hatch.
Car enthusiasts will also have the option to buy the Subaru XV in new exterior colors such as Cool Grey Khaki and Sunshine Orange, which beautifully contrast with the vehicle's matte-black cladding and its set of 18-inch wheels that come in a fresh pattern.
The interior of the 2018 Subaru XV comes with a 8.0-inch touchscreen display that has innovative infotainment and smartphone connectivity functions. The rest of the Subaru XV's cabin has a "refreshed design" with streamlined passenger and cargo space.
Beneath the XV's skin is the brand's "revamped global platform" that enhances the vehicle's body and chassis rigidity and strength by at least 70-100 percent, especially when compared to the 2016 Subaru XV. The 2018 Subaru XV's suspension and steering gear ratio have also been improved.
Underneath the latest XV's hood is the same 2.0-liter Boxer engine. However, Subaru claims that 80 percent of the engine's parts have been revamped. Because of the changes made to the engine, it now has a minor output increase to 156 PS (154 HP) and 196 Nm (145 lb-ft) of torque, which has successfully pushed to the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system through an improved 7-speed Lineatronic gearbox, with manual mode.
While on the road, the XV has a new X-Mode that will help increase drivability by "optimizing integrated control of the engine, AWD, and brakes to provide additional control when tire slip is detected."
When it comes to its safety features, the all-new Subaru XV has EyeSight driver assist technology along with Pre-Collision Braking Control, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist, the High Beam Assist, adaptive headlights. The latest iteration of the XV also has Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection, which provides blind spot detection, lane change assistance, and reversing assistance.
The newest XV also has a new steering wheel, orange stitching on the vehicle's instrumental panel and a new electronic parking brake, per CNET.
The 2018 Subaru XV's pricing and trim levels remain unknown as of now, but it has been confirmed that the XV will go on sale later in 2017. The XV will also make its North American debut in April at the New York Auto Show.
