This year marks the 50th anniversary of one of the most renowned and respected automotive companies in the world: Lamborghini. The company announced recently that they'll be celebrating their historic anniversary with year-long celebrations in Italy and other locations around the world.

The company is known for introducing some of the most well-known vehicles in the world including cars like the 350 GT, the Miura, and the LM 002. Today, cars like the Aventado show that the company is still determined to release vehicles through an "innovative design and enhanced technology" according to the company's website.

Lamborghini is not only an automotive company that has remained "true to its origins" but has reached approximately 45 countries at press time. The company operates through 120 dealers, but the "heart" of Lamborghini lies in Sant'Agata Bolognese, the first factory the company opened back in May of 1963.

On May 7-11, for over 745 miles, Italy's roads will be taken over by hundreds of vintage and modern-day Lamborghinis. One of the vehicles that could make an appearance at the celebration is the new Lamborghini Veneno.

The Veneno uses a 740-hp version of the 6.5-liter V-12 and is linked to a 7-speed manual transmission according to Yahoo. The vehicle can reach a top speed of 220 mph.

The new Veneno will cost approximately $4 million according to CarsUK.com. Only three models of the new Lamborghini are being produced, which could explain the steep price for the vehicle. It is assumed all three have already been sold according to multiple media outlets like Yahoo.

Lamborghini will fund the event directly and will donate 10 percent of the proceeds to a number of different sponsors and foundations like one dedicated towards rebuilding social and cultural areas affected by earthquakes.
