Chevrolet and GMC revealed this week a new commercial dealer program called "Business Elite" at 469 dealerships around the nation.

The new "Business Elite" program was designed by the company for businesses who own 100 vehicles and to provide the U.S. 400,000 small-to-mid-size businesses with the industry's "best sales and service experience."

"We asked our customers what they want and need from their commercial vehicle provider and we redesigned our business model around their feedback," said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of Fleet and Commercial Sales in the company press release. "Our dealerships have embraced the increased requirements and we have a record number of participating dealers meeting the strict qualifications."

"Business Elite" dealers offer a team of expert sales consultants to assist customers so they select the proper vehicles for the job they need. Each "Business Elite" department has the tools, equipment facilities, and certified technicians to meet the demands of each customer.

Specific needs can include round-the-clock towing, work ready loaner vehicles, business financing and leasing options.

Last month GM Fleet and Commercial started their "Business Choice" program designed for small businesses, an industry first two-year, 30,000-mile, business plan with cash allowance for vehicle accessories according to the company press release.

Vehicles eligible for the plan include passenger, cutaway vans, cargo, chassis cabs, and the Chevrolet Avalanche to name a few. The plan also includes oil and filter changes, tire rotation, 27-point inspection.

"We continue to raise the bar and improve our customer experience to ensure that we are the preferred vehicle partner for commercial customers," Peper said according to GM's press release. "GM saw a 37 percent increase in sales to small businesses in January so we think businesses that weathered the economic downturn will be able to refresh their fleets and take advantage of all of the benefits our new programs offer."
