The Italian sports car manufacturer, Ferrari, is on their 70th anniversary and what’s the best way to celebrate it than to launch a brand new powerful supercar? In Geneva Motor Show 2017, Ferrari introduced the 812 Superfast.
"Thrilling top-end performance" that is what Ferrari 812 Superfast promises. This new powerful supercar can crank out 790 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque through its 6.5-liter V-12 engine. Engineers of Ferrari tweaked the consumption and ignition system to maximize the amount of airflow into the engine. This resulted to the overall improvement of Ferrari 812 Superfast’s efficiency and set a record of 588 kw at 8,500 rpm. That energy boosts the 812 Superfast from 0 to 62 miles per hour in a 2.9-second flash. It is the first Ferrari made with electric power steering.
However, according to USA Today, it is not clear how exactly that will perform when it comes to acceleration time or top speed. It is given that the horsepower is still short compared to other supercars like Bugatti, but it can still do a good job.
Ferrari’s chief marketing officer, Enrico Galliera said that what makes this supercar different is that Ferrari has redesigned its interior focusing on comfort. According to The Verge‘s Vlad Savov, the interior of 812 Superfast has a better space compared to Ferrari 488 GTB. There is plenty of legroom for both the driver and passenger. In the driver’s point of view, it’s glass pane rear window has a slope which highly contributed in making the car feel more spacious.
Overall, the Ferrari 812 Superfast definitely lived up to its name. It is a great combination of speed and comfort. This supercar is a great way to celebrate Ferrari’s 70th anniversary. It brings people back to their classic slogan that “We are the competition”.
